During recent years, we have supplied a number of sets of equipment for the manufacture of high voltage cable. These include impregnation vessels, turntables and vertical twisting machines. Our job commission included design, fabrication, delivery, installation and commission, trimming and the CE-label qualification of the equipmemt.
For ABB High Voltage Cables, we have manufactured and installed a turntable for the Baltic Cable Project which connects the Swedish and German electrical power grids. The turntable, which has a diameter of 28 m and weighs 400 tonnes, has a capacity of 7,000 tonnes
Turntables consists of a round steel table with a diameter of 10 – 28 meter, standing on up to 144 wheels which runs on a number of rails. On these turntables, the High Voltage Cables with diameters up to 270mm and weight up to 7 000 tonnes, is placed
The Impregnation vessel is in principle a turntable on which a pressure vessel is placed. It is used for oil impregnation of the paper insulation of the cable.
The vertical twister is an equipment consisting of 4 turntables standing on a bigger turntable. Is used for the assembly of cable parts to a big round cable
