Materials and Welding Technology

Our materials- and welding technology activities is a key resource for the performance of complex repair projects, which is the AREVA NP Uddcomb AB speciality.

We execute among others:

• Development and qualification of new welding methods
• Education and qualification of personnel
• Evaluation of material properties, choice of materials
• Performance of damage analysis
• Advice on welding and materials

Our Laboratory which is accredited by SWEDAC for destructive testing and metallographic examinations, performs testing defined by:

SS-EN 287 and EN ISO 9606-4 (Welders Qualification)
EN ISO 15614 (Welding Procedure Qualification)
And other Norms, e.g. ASME IX

• Tensile testing (Hot tensile test up to 550°C)
• Impact testing
• Hardness testing

• Metallographic examinations

SWEDAC’s accreditation

Accredited laboratories are appointed by the Swedish Board for technical accreditation, SWEDAC, under the terms of the Act. These laboratories meet the requirements set up in EN 45 001, EN 45 002 and ISO/IEC Guide 25. Laboratories accredited by SWEDAC also fulfil the relevant requirements which are stipulated in ISO 9002.
